Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is built upon the foundation of leading by example, fostering a genuine love of learning, and cultivating a classroom environment where every student feels both supported and challenged. I have always believed that when an educator pursues a high standard of excellence, it naturally inspires students to do the same. Therefore, my goal is to help students achieve measurable academic growth while simultaneously developing the character and leadership skills they will rely on long after they leave the classroom.

This process begins by creating an inclusive space where students are encouraged to take ownership of their education. By modeling integrity and resilience in my daily interactions, I aim to prepare my students to be ethical decision-makers and lifelong learners. Ultimately, I am committed to helping each student recognize their unique potential and guiding them toward a future of purpose and success.

I am truly honored to join Mater Dei Academy because it represents a meaningful intersection of my career in education and my deep-rooted commitment to Christian values. Having spent my 20-year professional life in Northeast Ohio, I deeply value the opportunity to serve a school that stands as a pillar of the Lake County community. It is a privilege to work in an environment where academic rigor and faith-based education naturally complement one another to support the success of the whole child.

Beyond the school's strong tradition, I am particularly drawn to the leadership’s forward-thinking commitment to STEM education. Because we are developing the thinkers and leaders of tomorrow, it is essential that we engage our students with 21st-century methods. By integrating the design process into our curriculum, we provide students with hands-on opportunities to see their education as a practical tool for contributing positively to the world. I look forward to bringing my experience in leadership and communication to Mater Dei’s dedicated staff, helping to strengthen the mission we share for the next generation.
