Katie Shininger – Art

Education

Bachelor of Arts in Design

Philosophy

My goal is to provide an engaging classroom where students are encouraged to try their best, believe in their abilities, and learn something new. They will learn and grow in a loving, respectful, faith filled environment. My art program consists of using the principles and elements of design along with various media and techniques to develop student’s skills not only as artists, but also as creative thinkers and problem solvers.

Mater Dei is know for excellent academics and teaching of the Catholic faith. My children are recent MDA graduates and I have been able to experience the school as a parent as well as a staff member. I am grateful and blessed to be able to teach alongside the fantastic faculty and staff that were wonderful to my children over the years. I look forward to sharing that same love of learning and deep faith with my students.

Masters in Business Management

Philosophy

My philosophy of education is that all of God’s creations are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and most importantly spiritually.  It is my desire to create this type of atmosphere where students can meet their full potential.  I will provide a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas and take risks.  Students will be challenged each class and will receive the tools needed to not only be successful in academics, but as contributing adults throughout their life.

By the end of the year, students will grow with the love of learning and a growing desire to pursue a life of service in society as I strive to connect my students to God and Help them to build an unfailing connection and belief in Him.
